Two Cases of Urticaria Pigmentosa

Abstract
Urticaria Pigmentosa, also known as Xanthelasmoidea, is a manifestation of mastocytosis due to local and systemic accumulation of mast cells in the skin, reticuloendothelial system, other organs, characterized by usually persistant pigmented cutaneous lesions of various size, shape, from light brown to purplish color that tend to urticate upon mechanical, chemical irritation.
As a rule this disease appear in a new born infant and children, rarely in adult.
We report two cases of urticaria pigmentosa who showed clinically and histologically typical lesions on the entire body.
In these cases, laboratory findings were W. N. L. First case was a 50 yrs old man, since 30 yrs ago skin lesion has been showed. Second case was a newborn infant, and then from at birth, skin eruption was presented, but from 1 month after at birth, the skin lesion began to fade out. 3 months after at birth, skin lesion has discolorated and disappeared but facial flushing was showed.
In these cases, antihistamine and antiserotonine with cyproheptadine-hydrochloride was recommened, and follow up.
Literature was briefly reviewed for the discussion of clinical and microscopic findings of this disease.
